Accounting Manager - Santa Monica, CA (hybrid)

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead the daily operations of our accounting function. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a blend of hands-on work and leadership responsibilities in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. The Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting processes, support financial reporting, and help drive process improvements across a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
  • Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare internal financial reports and assist with consolidated reporting for leadership.
  • Manage payroll and employee reimbursements with accuracy and discretion.
  • Maintain cash activity records and assist with cash flow tracking and forecasting.
  • Support year-end audits and compliance reporting by preparing relevant schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure accounting practices align with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency in accounting workflows and systems.
  • Contribute to special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA is a plus.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with exposure to both in-house and external accounting functions.
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and standard accounting practices.
  • Experience managing a general ledger and supporting multi-entity accounting.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
