Job Summary

This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

We are seeking a skilled Real Property Appraiser to perform property appraisals and manage acquisition activities in compliance with USPAP standards. This position involves appraising a wide range of property types—including residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial—and participating in land management functions such as direct purchase, relocation, property management, and condemnation support.

This position will travel approximately 50% of the time, with some in-state overnight stays possible.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Current Minnesota Certified General Real Property Appraiser license issued by the Minnesota Department of Commerce AND three years of professional experience that demonstrates the following:

  • Experience appraising single and multi-family residential, industrial, commercial, and agricultural properties as well as experience applying Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice USPAP real estate appraisal requirements and,
  • Experience applying State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies affecting real estate, land acquisition, and disposition, and
  • Experience facilitating effective interaction between diverse groups.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in economics, finance, or real estate.
  • Professional designation from the Appraisal Institute, American Society of Farm Managers & Rural Appraisers, or International Right of Way Association.
