About the Position

The Asphalt & Concrete Division Manager will lead all aspects of the company’s asphalt, concrete, striping, sealcoat, and crackseal operations. This role combines strategic leadership, operational management, and financial oversight , with responsibility for the division’s overall performance, profitability, and long-term growth.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader capable of managing teams, building business relationships, and ensuring operational excellence across estimating, production, staffing, safety, quality, and customer service. Reporting to executive leadership, this individual will have full P&L responsibility for the division and will help shape the company’s strategic direction in the Colorado market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a multi-year strategic plan to achieve prudent revenue and profit growth.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and relationship managers to build market presence and win new business.
  • Manage the opportunity pipeline through Salesforce and ensure all bid/proposal deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for estimating, project execution, financial tracking, and quality control.
  • Oversee daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Monitor bid processes, project budgets, cost tracking, and customer communication to ensure operational excellence.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to specifications.
  • Lead all estimating, budgeting, and financial performance management for the division.
  • Manage accounts receivable to maintain positive cash flow and minimize past-due accounts.
  • Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards .
  • Conduct site inspections and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement .
  • Recruit, train, and mentor field and office staff to support division growth.
  • Foster a positive, performance-driven culture focused on teamwork, professionalism, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering , or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in asphalt, concrete, or heavy civil construction.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience managing crews, operations, and budgets.
  • Proven success managing business units with annual revenues exceeding $5 million .
  • Strong background in estimating, scheduling, cost control , and project delivery .
  • Strong financial and strategic business acumen .
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Position is based in Denver , CO

  • Competitive base salary : $150,000 – $225,000 (based on experience and qualifications) with a total potential of $350,000-$750,000
