Job Description

Aligned Solutions is seeking a Bookkeeper for a well respected company. This CPA firm seeks experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. This well established firm is known for it's friendly office that provides a work/life balance. Prior experience working in a CPA firm required. 

Typical tasks:

  • Managing the full cycle of bookkeeping/accounting activities for our firm and our clients
  • Oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable and collection functions
  • Processing full payroll cycles; processing time reports, generating payroll payments, preparation of related tax deposits, payroll tax return preparation, posting of information to general ledger, and related journal entries
  • Reconciling bank and credit card statements
  • Maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger
  • Monthly sales tax reconciliation and filing of quarterly payments
  • Prepare subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement
  • Research and analyze expense variances for company management
  • Maintenance of vendor files
  • Business license and gross receipts summarizing
  • Credit Card management and reconciliation
  • Client bookkeeping including maintenance of QuickBooks, processing vendor accounts payable, adjusting journal entries
  • Make backups of QuickBooks database files on a weekly basis
  • Assist with pre-preparation of tax returns and financial statements.
  • As needed, cover for front desk person - greet and escort clients and visitors as soon as they arrive in the office in a professional and friendly manner
  • Assist Managing Partners with strategic planning issues; evaluating leases, insurance plans, 401(k) providers and administrators, etc.
  • Alternative special projects as requested

Desired skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks/QuickBooks Online
  • Experience preparing financial statements
  • Strong attention to detail, communication and analytical skills with ability to implement solutions
  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Receivable/Payable
  • Payroll tax experience
  • Practical knowledge of Sales Tax
  • Fixed assets experience highly preferred
