ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to oversee all aspects of our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in public accounting, hold an active CPA license, and currently manage a full-cycle monthly close process. Prior experience in digital media, entertainment, or high-growth environments is highly preferred. Exposure to working within a larger holding company or corporate structure is a plus but not required.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage the full monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, revenue recognition, and consolidations
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Manage and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
Coordinate external audits and liaise with tax advisors and auditors
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders and executive leadership
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, legal, and content teams on business initiatives
Assist in the implementation of new systems and scale accounting processes to support growth
Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning processes
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Active CPA required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree a plus
10+ years of total accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm preferred)
Experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a digital media, entertainment, or scaling company
Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting issues
Proficiency with accounting and financial reporting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar)
Experience with Workday or similar ERP/General Ledger platforms is a plus
Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment

Experience working within a portfolio company or a subsidiary of a larger organization
Familiarity with media/content business models and revenue recognition practices
Involvement in M&A, post-acquisition integration, or financial system rollouts
