Job Title: HVAC Mechanical Engineer Location: Fullerton, CA Job Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-10 hour shifts About the Opportunity A leading design/build HVAC contractor in Southern California is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanical Engineer to join its growing AC Install Department. This is a full-time, in-house role focused on delivering high-quality HVAC and refrigeration systems for commercial and industrial clients. The company has a strong reputation for technical excellence and customer satisfaction, with over four decades of industry experience. Key Responsibilities + Perform HVAC system calculations, heat load analysis, and Title 24 compliance using EnergyPro software. + Support project engineers with technical input from proposal through construction phases. + Collaborate with CAD drafters to prepare mechanical drawings for permitting and construction. + Conduct site job walks to gather field data and assess design feasibility. + Coordinate with vendors to obtain equipment specifications and resolve design challenges. Required Qualifications + Minimum 5 years of HVAC industry experience. + Proficiency in EnergyPro software. + Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, ASHRAE standards, and California mechanical/building codes. + Experience working with CAD drafters and preparing construction-ready documentation. + Ability to perform field assessments and communicate effectively with internal teams and vendors. + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
