Applications Engineering team in the Machine Vision Business Unit. The team provides pre-sales and post-sales application development support & technical support on how to use our products to Customers, Partners & Zebra Sales team and also acts as a liaison between them & R&D teams by efficiently exchanging technical information to improve our products.

The purpose of this internship is to prepare college students for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization. The program is designed to provide you with a full experience so that you can fully envision a career with Zebra. You will be positioned for success with training, exposure to all parts of the business, social activities, a professional mentor relationship and development sessions to help you discover your own performance edge!

Responsibilities:

  • Develops & Troubleshoots software & hardware for machine vision and imaging applications.

  • Works closely with the Applications Engineering team, R&D teams & other technical staff to solve technical software or hardware problems using e-mail, phone and remote connection applications.

  • Helps the AE team with POCs & post sale support activities.

  • Helps the AE team with internal T&V activities related to the AE responsibilities

  • Helps the AE team with tradeshows and other event activities

  • Develop planning, organizational and leadership skills

  • Increase technology knowledge and skills

  • Develop team-based work proficiencies

  • Develop interpersonal skills to connect with day-to-day business contacts through follow up activities

This is a hybrid internship based in Holtsville, NY. Interns are expected to work in the office at least three per week, with the possibility of additional in-office days during certain weeks based on business needs

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate/graduate degree program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

  • Must have an anticipated graduation date of December 2026

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some experience with programming, scripting and coding (C++, C, C#, Python programming languages a plus)

  • Experience with lab equipment - voltmeter, oscilloscope, wiring and mechanical mounting

  • Image Processing knowledge a plus

  • Knowledge of PC hardware, familiarity with Windows and Linux Operating Systems.

  • Superior communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)

  • Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow

  • Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic, and/or extracurricular experiences

  • Ability to collaborate as part of a team

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Salary: USD 32.00 - USD 40.00 Hourly

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
