**Our client is a leading global specialty chemical manufacturer specializing in performance additives. They are seeking a Laboratory Manager to join their team!**
**Pay** : $80k-$95k salary
**Schedule:** Mon-Fri 7a-4p
**Location** : Cook County
**Responsibilities:**
+ Supervise QC and Technical Service laboratory staff, including scheduling, timecard approval, performance reviews, counseling, and training.
+ Lead QC and technical support efforts to ensure products and services meet internal standards and customer expectations.
+ Manage rotating shifts to provide continuous production support.
+ Provide technical direction and support to laboratory personnel and cross-functional business partners.
+ Serve as a technical resource on chemical and component technology and its impact on product performance.
+ Guide Sales and Marketing teams on product features, performance characteristics, and application insights.
+ Troubleshoot analytical methods to ensure accuracy, reduce variability, and improve reliability.
+ Develop and analyze method repeatability data, KPIs, and monthly manufacturing scorecards.
+ Establish and maintain quality assurance standards, procedures, and controls across materials, ingredients, and final products in compliance with QP&G and ISO requirements.
+ Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
+ Prepare annual budgets for manpower, equipment, and operational costs; ensure the lab operates within budget guidelines.
**Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and 10+ years of relevant industrial experience.
+ Experience in formulating metalworking fluids, cleaners, and corrosion inhibitors.
+ Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
+ Knowledge of analytical methods, laboratory instrumentation, and statistical process control (SPC).
+ Ability to manage and supervise multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to handle workplace stress and maintain effective performance.
+ Must pass Department of Homeland Security background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening.
+ Ability to meet physical vision requirements including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustments.
