Title : Mechanical Construction Project Engineer (Civil & Military Works)

Location : West Point, NY

Duration : 12+ months contact

Day-To-Day Tasks

• The project requires the client (i.e. you) to perform the basic construction management disciplines (architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical) onsite—both under direction and independently.
• Support the Prime contractor in both a supportive and technical capacity, particularly in the role of a Mechanical Engineer.
• Specific tasks may include:
• Onsite management support
• Record keeping, budget tracking, and schedule monitoring
• Inspection, progress reporting, safety monitoring, and meeting attendance
• Testing and responding to information requests
• Commissioning in collaboration with in-house personnel
• Design phase services within the basic disciplines of mechanical engineering
• Note: Design services are incidental to and in support of the Construction Management Services performed by the A/E.

What You Need to Succeed

• Mechanical engineering degree or background ( must be included to be considered )
• Experience in construction/building ( large-scale projects are a plus )
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work:
• Remotely
• Onsite
• With the client team (note: no physical office in NY)
• HUGE plus: Electrical engineering experience
• HUGE plus: Experience with both Military Construction and Civil Works projects
• HUGE plus: Knowledge of:
• Corrosion control
• Seismic upgrades
• Hazardous materials abatement
• Plus (not required): Civil Works experience in:
• Dredging and beach fill operations
• Shoreline protection
• Hurricane and storm damage reduction
• Flood risk management
• Beach erosion control
• Wetlands creation
• Locks and dams
