Job Description

Infra Pipe Solutions has over 60 years of experience specializing in the design, manufacture, and custom fabrication of engineered polyethylene systems for water, wastewater, and storm water management applications. Infra Pipe offers its clients full-service engineering support in the design and manufacture of custom systems to meet their project's specific requirements. Endot was purchased in 2020 and has three operation sites in the US specializing in the manufacture of PE pipes of varying sizes for water, wastewater, drainage, oil, gas, and mining applications among others.

We are currently seeking a Plant Manager to lead, manage and direct all aspects of the Greeneville, Tennessee plant operations, reporting directly to the VP Operations. The primary responsibilities will include the daily management and coordination of plant operations including production, logistics and QA while ensuring compliance with all labor, safety, production and corporate policies and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree (Business/Finance/Management/Operations or other related field) or equivalent with 8 years plus of progressive experience in a key leadership/management role at a manufacturing facility (previous plastic manufacturing experience would be an asset),
  • Candidates with Six Sigma, Green Belt or Black Belt certification will be given preferred consideration,
  • Previous experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices,
  • Possess strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills,
  • Ability to identify opportunities and follow through on the execution and improvement,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in plain language,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven experience in the ability to develop strong and effective working relationships at all levels of the organization,
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, with the ability to make decisions under pressure,
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare, modify and comprehend spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products to analyze data and trends,
  • Ability to demonstrate task management and timeline control,
  • Proven experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as Six Sigma, 6-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility,
  • Maintain and support a superior safety and housekeeping program. This would include the following key elements, performing workplace inspections, performing incident investigations, employee training, safety communication, correcting substandard acts or conditions, recognition of safety performance and adherence to legislated safety requirements,
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring timely and cost-effective production, while maintaining high quality standards. Establish and ensure production standards and schedules are maintained to meet company & customer requirements,
  • Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement,
  • Drive continuous improvement of company core values, including valuing people, ethics, safety and environmental leadership,
  • Remove production constraints, allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals. Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment,
  • Participate and advise in the long-term planning and scheduling for each department. Establish budget requirements for all areas based on sales forecasts. Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by regularly reviewing budget to define P&L and to ensure monthly budget expectations are met. Prepare and present production, financial, and other management reports,
  • Train and build an aligned team to drive all critical operating tasks across the network to achieve positive results. Foster a well-trained and motivated staff, across all levels of the plant,
  • Analyze data related to productivity and efficiency in the production area, to ensure operational cost effectiveness. Develop and implement risk management strategies, as appropriate, to reduce cost and increase production efficiencies,
  • Attend and actively participate in reviews and investigations where product quality is in question. Develop and implement procedures to improve quality standards, and ensure adherence to all processes and procedures,
  • Coordinate the activity concerning sales order acceptance and plant commitments. Nurture and build customer relationships and be responsive to their business needs. Ensure there is an accurate inventory of products,
  • Actively support LEAN and 6-S initiatives, encouraging participation from all departments,
  • Manage the collective efforts of the Plant Safety Committee and Plant safety efforts. This would include the following key elements: performing workplace inspections, performing incident investigations, employee training, safety communication, correcting substandard acts or conditions, recognition of safety performance and adherence to legislated safety requirements.
  • Ability to travel throughout North America to other manufacturing facilities,
  • Conduct all work according to established procedures, policies and standards.
