Job Description
Salary: $160,000 - 215,000 per year Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree and 12 years of software engineering experience in defense or aerospace sectors, or a Masters degree with 10 years of experience
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or collaboratively
- Self-motivated individual capable of segmenting large projects into manageable tasks
- Proficient in programming languages including C/C++, Java, Ada, Python, and real-time operating systems for embedded systems
- Knowledge of embedded and safety-critical software standards (DO-178C)
- Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment and version control systems
- Strong analytical and architectural design capabilities
- Excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
- Experience in aircraft integration and flight testing
- Eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI and special access clearance
- Willingness to travel to customer locations as required
Responsibilities: - Collaborate with team members and leaders to select suitable design solutions and ensure system components are compatible
- Lead engineering teams on intricate defense projects, including avionics and mission systems
- Develop robust and scalable software architectures that adhere to security standards
- Oversee codebase organization, design patterns, coding standards, and best practices in DevOps
- Conduct code reviews, enhance performance and efficiency, and assure quality
- Author and manage testing plans, security assessments, and related processes
- Mentor junior engineers and nurture a team culture focused on innovation, perseverance, and trust
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Split complex problems into actionable tasks and establish practical plans
- Coach and develop team members to elevate skills and improve project outcomes
