Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Project Manager to join our team, focusing on the exciting world of Ubuntu Embedded Systems. In this role, you will manage complex customer-facing projects, ensuring their successful delivery while acting as the key liaison between engineering teams and customers. You will oversee the delivery of Ubuntu images across a wide range of devices, from robotics and edge gateways to IoT devices, PCs, and automotive systems.
What You'll Do:
Lead and manage projects from start to finish, ensuring goals are met for both the team and the client.
Deliver engineering professional services on assigned projects, collaborating with internal teams.
Work on custom board enablement and the delivery of Ubuntu images to clients.
Develop project statements of work and manage detailed project schedules/plans.
Obtain client agreement to schedules and agreed-upon deliverables.
Ensure projects are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget.
Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks.
Provide daily and weekly communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
Manage third-party deliverables, keeping the project on track.
Keep management updated on project status and escalate any issues as needed.
Advocate for the use of relevant technologies from the product portfolio.
Support projects across different time zones, with flexibility in working hours.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.
What We're Looking for:
Proven experience in project management, specifically delivering engineering services and managing software development teams.
Strong track record in managing cross-cultural and international projects, including resources from Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math is preferred.
Solid understanding of Linux and the Open Source Software community.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
A strong leader and problem-solver with a history of building effective internal and external partnerships.
PMP/PMI or PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification is a plus.
Ability to work outside traditional business hours to support a global team.
Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
