Registered Nurse – Outpatient / Same Day Surgery (Travel Assignment) Location: Salt Lake City, UT Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4×10 Evenings (1:30 PM – 10:00 PM, Monday–Friday) Pay: $2,316/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts) Job Description ATC Healthcare is seeking a skilled and patient-centered Outpatient / Same Day Surgery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Salt Lake City, Utah. The RN will provide pre- and post-operative care to surgical patients in a fast-paced ambulatory setting, ensuring patient safety, education, and smooth transitions through the surgical process. This position is based in a same day surgery unit with 18 beds, serving patients across a wide range of surgical specialties. The ideal candidate has solid pre-op and post-op experience, strong IV skills, and the ability to manage multiple patients efficiently. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pre-operative care, including starting IVs, obtaining vital signs, verifying consents, performing health assessments, and preparing patients for surgery.
• Deliver safe and effective post-operative care, monitoring recovery, managing pain, and providing discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical, and recovery staff to coordinate patient flow and optimize outcomes.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation in the Epic EMR system.
• Support patients and families with education on surgical procedures, post-op expectations, and home care instructions.
• Maintain infection control, patient safety, and compliance with hospital standards.
• Manage up to four patients simultaneously, prioritizing care efficiently in a dynamic setting.
• Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and teamwork within the surgical services department.

Qualifications

• Active Utah RN license or Compact State RN license (required).
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Same Day Surgery, Pre-Op, or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience (required).
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS (required).
• Proficiency in IV insertion, pre-op assessment, and post-op discharge education.
• Strong knowledge of perioperative procedures and patient preparation.
• Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
• Experience with Epic EMR (preferred).
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
