The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the philosophy of the institution.

Responsibilities: Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and that is based on patient and family needs. Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.Communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base. Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solution.Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies.Pre/Post-Complete patient assessment reflecting patient condition and document data in EPIC. OR-RN circulator should be dedicated to each patient, serving as their advocate, and responsible for their safety during the surgical procedure. Pre/Post-Recognize normal and abnormal findings. Notifies Physician appropriately. OR-Responsible for all documentation of surgical procedure, and specimen collection in EPIC. Pre/Post-Establish plan of care for patient and set goals. OR-RN Circulator delegates, supervises, and evaluates the activities of the team members routinely as well as simultaneously executing immediate directives and intervention in urgent or emergent situations. Pre/Post-Establish IV access and maintain on patients. Practices 5 rights for medication administration. OR-Maintains sterility of the Operating Room, including monitoring use of strict aseptic and sterile technique. Pre/Post-Participate in Time Out process with OR RN. OR-Participates in Time Out process with Preop RN, and initiates Time Out in the OR prior to start of procedure. Qualifications:

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is $30.39per hour - $52.27per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
