Job Description

Tax Accountant - $110,000 + bonus & profit sharing

Join a firm which mainly engages in investment activities within the global fixed income sector, focusing on safeguarding capital and achieving steady returns while maintaining minimal correlation with equities, interest rates, and currency markets.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 3-5 years of experience in financial services, with exposure to tax practices related to hedge/mutual funds or investment companies
• In-depth knowledge of fixed income securities, derivatives, and complex financial instruments
• Proficiency in advanced MS Excel and familiarity with tax software such as Brightline, K1x, Alteryx, or Workday
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate across internal teams and external partners

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with Total Return accounting systems (e.g., SS&C Globe-Op platform)
• Knowledge of ASC 740 Uncertain Tax Position analyses and operational systems enhancements
• Exposure to offshore fund reporting and international tax filings

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA or MST designation (or working towards)
• 3-5 years of relevant financial services experience, particularly in the investment or hedge fund industry

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work in-office daily at our Boston location
• Attention to detail in handling tax computations, filings, and reconciliations
• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and operational improvements

Pay/Benefits/Key Info:

• Pay for this opening has a salary range up to $110,000/year
• 10% bonus and 12% profit sharing on top of the base salary
• Located in Back Bay Boston, MA.  This role is in-office Monday-Friday
