Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Pay Rate: $32/hour Location: Rockford, IL 61016 (Onsite 100%) Area Code: 779, 773, 312 Shift: 1st Hire Type: Direct, full time, full benefits #manufacturingengineer #aerospacejobs #AtlasCopco Job Summary We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support advanced assembly operations for aerospace hardware in Rockford, IL. This role involves developing and validating torque strategies, designing workstation tools, implementing data collection systems, and collaborating closely with operators and engineering teams. Ideal for candidates with 1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment-especially those with exposure to Atlas Copco torque tooling. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and test torque strategies, conduct both lab and on-line hardware trials
• Design ergonomic workstation tooling and assist with implementation
• Perform assembly process validation and support IT/data collection integration
• Analyze operator ergonomics and implement tool support solutions
• Create technical documentation, reports, presentations, and data packages
• Collaborate closely with shop floor operators, mechanical engineers, and management
• Support project planning, scheduling, reporting, and trial execution
• Communicate regularly with Technical Leads, Project Managers, and Group Leads

Core Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
• 1+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly engineering (internship experience considered)
• Knowledge of assembly methods, manufacturing practices, and blueprint/spec interpretation
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with shop floor teams and cross-functional stakeholders
• U.S. Citizenship required due to contract/regulatory requirements

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Atlas Copco PF4000 or PF6000 Smart Torque tooling
• Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards
